Where are you from? 
I am from Memphis,TN by way of Mound Bayou, MS.

What’s something we wouldn't know by looking at you?
You wouldn't know that I sing just by looking.

How long have you been natural? 
I have been natural going on 8 years.


Did you do the Big Chop or did you transition to natural hair and When? 
I transitioned back to my natural hair state back in 2005.

Did you have a support system? 
Initially I didn't have a support system, yet I didn't have anyone down talking me about my choice.

What is more important to you - Hair Length or Hair Health? 
The health of my hair is more important than the length.

What are some of your favorite natural hair products? 
Cantu leave in daily moisturizer has been there since the beginning. I also like Miss Jessie's, Jane Carter Solutions, Eden Body Works, and Camille Rose Naturals among others.

What is your natural hair regimen? 
I usually wash my hair twice a week, I condition my hair over night, LOC, and my go to style is a sleek puff or two sleek flat strand twists.

What advice would you give to someone who is considering to go natural or a newly natural sista? 
Stick with it and embrace it. Address the issues that you have. Your hair too dry....add moisturizers, scalp dry......add oils, only fix what is broken or wrong.

Since I loc’d my hair last year November, creamy moisturizers have been a thing of the past. Anything creamy is the devil to locs because it causes buildup and can even grow mold in the loc (yuck!).
